About Redhillarchives

Redhillarchives isn’t trying to be one thing.

It started as a place to put ideas that didn’t have anywhere else to go, essays that were too long for Instagram and too personal for a CV, paintings that were really arguments, and a running suspicion that culture, law, and art are talking about the same problems in different languages. It’s grown into a publication that sits at the intersection of all three: part media outlet, part gallery, part working notebook for anyone trying to think seriously about the world without taking themselves too seriously while doing it.

What we publish

Long-form essays and cultural commentary sit alongside visual art series like the recent series One Bad Decision at a Time, a recurring checkerboard motif exploring binary thinking and the small decisions that quietly define us. The Book Crusade runs alongside both, a slower, ongoing project for readers who still want to sit with something longer than a scroll.

The shop

The Hive is where the physical and wearable side of Redhillarchives lives — original art, prints, and objects that carry the same visual language as the writing: black-and-white, editorially minded, unwilling to explain itself too much.

Editorial standards

We take the craft of editing seriously — not as red tape, but as the difference between a story that informs and one that just performs. You can read about our full editorial standards.
